Venous stasis ulcers: Venous stasis ulcers occur when the leg veins stop functioning properly (not the same as the ulcers diabetic patients get). It is important to treat the underlying vein problem to prevent developing new ulcers. In fact, it may be best to treat the vein problem before doing the skin graft to optimize good healing. See a vascular specialist.
