No: Venous statistics ulcer repair typically is performed when a patient has been monitored and their a1c level is stable and they are medically controlled. The main cause is diabetes...When that is controlled by diet, medication and exercise then the rate of healing post-operatively is generally good!

Venous stasis ulcers: Venous stasis ulcers occur when the leg veins stop functioning properly (not the same as the ulcers diabetic patients get). It is important to treat the underlying vein problem to prevent developing new ulcers. In fact, it may be best to treat the vein problem before doing the skin graft to optimize good healing. See a vascular specialist.
