A member asked:

Can one chest ct cause harm to the cells or soft tissue of the lungs? is cancer possible? i m 30yr old male.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Doubtful: Cumulative radiation exposure is known to induce cancers, but 1 ct scan is not alot of radiation, relatively speaking, though it may equal the amount of radiation exposure of several hundred chest x-rays. Be your own advocate if confronted with a recommendation that you undergo repeated ct scans.
