Really constant?: Normal bowel frequency varies from 3 movements/ day to one movement every 3 to 4 days. Stool consistency, measured by bristol stool scale, varies from normal (4), hard (1-3), soft (5-7). Stool frequency you describe may not meet the medical definition of diarrhea. Perhaps you have a change in stool texture, urgency, or volume? Report accompanying symptoms (blood, tenderness, fever) to your doctor.
