Suspect Liver cancer: Liver cancer is one of the complications caused by cirrhosis. Alfa fetoprotein(afp) is a marker for liver cancer. Since his feto-protein level is very high, he should see a doctor to check him and investigate the cause. A repeat test can be done but he is also going to need a x-ray/scan of his liver to look for cancer in his liver right away.
