Pill effect: You're ok! one effect of the pill is to decrease the growth of lining tissue in the uterus. On occasion, it can become so thinned out that there will be no bleeding on a "period". This is ok on the pill. You've already done the important thing - getting a pregnancy test. If you continue using the pill you will probably get a light period at each three month period. No long term effect for you.
