Selsun, Ketoconazole: (pityrosporum) malassezia ovale is a yeast 'which lives on the skin' .It is associated with: pityriasis versicolor, pityrosporum folliculitis, seborrhoeic dermatitis (dandruff! ) and atopic dermatitis.Topical treatment with selenium disulfide or ketoconazole shampoos is effective and oral fluconazole, ketoconazole or itraconazole is also effective. The big problem is recurrence.Retreatment is rule.
