Severe tantrums: Ied refers to children who, most times, function well, but periodically react to minor slights or disappointments with major meltdowns that can be prolonged and potentially dangerous to themselves and others or destructive to property. Cause is not well understood, and treatments vary, including behavioral interventions and medications, depending on child age and severity of meltdowns.

Behavior loss contro: This is a condition in which there are episodes of loss of affective control. It usually occurs when the child is asked to transition to a new activity or setting or when asked to stop an activity, like watching TV, playing with a toy. The children usually are very anxious and when the transition is faced, they become overwhelmed with anxiety, cuasing the explosion of inappropriate behavior.
