A member asked:

Can a child get some disease from eating his boogers?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No: As unpleasant of a habit as it may be, eating 'boogers' should not cause an illness. The nose is directly connected in the back with the mouth and throat, so every time he sniffs, some material moves from the nose to the mouth, then the stomach. As such, it is the same result, just without the involvement of fingers!
