Depends: It depends on how much methadone you were taking. If you have already been without any methadone for 3 days and not have any withdrawal symptoms, you are already off of it. Congratulations..

W/d: if you aren't in withdrawal then go with it. if you are in withdrawal you have options: 1. medical detox 2. buprehorphine/naloxone 3. na/aa 4. other medication that might help w/d: clonidine

You can BUT: your chances of success are slim to none, if you were on significant doses for more than a month or so. Methadone withdrawal doesn't even get bad for 2-3 days, then gradually increases until it is very bad by one week out, and then it stays that way for several weeks, and even months. The chances of relapse to street opiates is very high. Bad choices led you to addiction and you're continuing them
