Punch biopsy: Birth marks are often benign lesions. If they change in color or if you want to know what they are you need to see a dermatologist. He/She may elect to do a punch biopsy to give you the exact diagnosis.

Depends: Depends on what it looks like. If its getting bigger, bumpier, border irregularity, bleeding or looking black, then it needs to be evaluated by a dermatologist. Otherwise, doesn't mean anything.
