Get vaccinated: You do not mention the type of meningitis you had, but it is of no consequence.Bacterial meningitis and the shots that help prevent it provide a good but temporary immunity to the person. It peaks in benefit over the first 2-3 years but begins to wain. If you are going into a risk setting (dorms, cafeterias, classes) it is best to boost your immunity than depend on a fading level of protection.
