Single or many: The main question would be whether you feel a single "hard" beat, or many in a row. A single beat is more common, occurs in most people, and is called a premature beat. Stimulants, like caffeine, lack of sleep, alcohol, tobacco, and some medications cause them. They're generally normal. If you have many in a row, see a heart rhythm specialist. Take care.
