Close leaking valves: Varicose veins are a result of malfunctioning valves usually in the saphenous system. The first step in treatment would be to obtain a venous reflux ultrasound to make the diagnosis and help plan treatment which could be laser or radiofreqency closure of the valves usually with microphlebectomies and possible sclerotherapy or ultrasound directed sclerotherapy. You should see a vein specialist.

Varicose veins: There is not really a single "best" treatment, as treatments are tailored to your specific anatomy. Ultrasound is needed. The most common treatments are endovenous ablation with laser or radiofrequency energy, stab phlebectomies, and sclerotherapy. Often a combination of therapies is needed. Vascular surgeons are considered the "vein experts" as they can offer all possible treatment options.

Varicose veins: firstly I would recommend evaluation by venous Doppler-sonogram to determine the source of the problem. If reflux is present, and thermal ablation of the vein would be recommended. Until that point I would urge the use of a compression stocking during daily activities, making efforts to place the stocking on the legs prior to the legs being dependent
