Get evaluation: Prolonged blockage of a nostril is usually caused by either a deviated septum or an enlarged inferior turbinate. However, other causes can include polyps or tumors. A nasal steroid spray can help reduce swelling from allergies. A nasal decongestant helps with blockage from a cold.
