A member asked:

How come kids don't get their shots (vaccinations) in the butt?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Injection site: It has been found that there is better absorption of injected vaccines or medications when given into tissues with good blood supply like muscle. The fat in the "butt" slows or even prevents absorption of the injected material.
