I haven't lived: in the United Kingdom for over 4 decades. But - my thought would be that it would be handled similarly to how it would be done in the US. First the patient would be medically stabilized. Then the patient would be evaluated psychiatrically & likely admitted if the attempt was serious.

Any hospital can: deal w/suicide attempt. The important thing is to get good after-care. This would include seeing a mental health professional. Please don't consider the matter over with when the person leaves the hospital. Peace and good health.
