What do you hope to: Accomplish? I would not expect a surgeon to take the place of a psychiatrist, psychologist or therapist. It may be helpful for the surgeon to know you are depressed - in this case i would advise that you have clinical depression (if that is accurate). Advise of what medications you are on - ; if you have issues regarding suicidality. Ask physician if s/he has questions about it.
