Period exam: No woman wants to undergo an elective pelvic exam while on a menstrual period. However, most healthcare professionals would not require an exam unless it was extremely essential to determining a diagnosis of a medical problem Ironically, many women who object to menstrual exams also wholeheartedly undergo exams while hemorrhaging to solve this problem. If the elective exam can wait, then do so.
