You can call your: state psychological association (or view online) and ask for referrals to a clinical psychologist. if you tell them the general area you want help w/they can direct you to the proper type of specialist. They usually give you three names. Peace and good health.

You can look : online on PsychologyToday.com, call your Heath insurance company and get a referral or call a hot line and ask for leads for psychologists in your area. Then give them a call and tell them why you would like an appointment. See how you feel talking to them on the phone. If you feel comfortable, make an appointment.

Referral: Some insurance plans require that your primary care physician make a referral on your behalf to a psychologist. Others do not. Call up your insurance carrier and find out what your policy is, and whether or not your doctor needs to make a referral. If your doctor does not need to make the referral you can find a psychologist in your area and call them up yourself.
