See Peds Neurologist: I would be concerned about any child awakening/or not from sleep with a headache. You need to see a peds neurologist asap. They may also be behaviorial issues causing this problem-bullying, sexual molestation, school pressures etc that could be at the root of this complaint.

Needs to be seen: Headaches that occur while laying down can be assocaited with brain tumors. She needs a brain ct asap. Go to the er or see you primary physician asap.
