No: Campylobacter and legionella are 2 different bacteria. Campylobacter causes food-borne illness from contaminated, undercooked or raw poultry. It causes diarrhea, fever, abdominal pain, nausea and vomiting. Legionella is a bacteria that can cause pneumonia and flu-like illness. It is usually contracted from contaminated water sources, such as pools and cooling systems.

Yes: It is a well known phenomena that the test for legionella can be falsely positive due to cross reactivity when a person has a campylobacter infection. Otherwise they are not linked as infections.

No: Legionnaires' disease is pneumonia caused by legionella bacteria. Campylobacteriosis causes gastroenteritis/ dysenteray most often associated with Campylobacter jejuni.
