Shigella: Shigellosis is an infection caused by a bacteria called Shigella. It can be transmitted by eating contaminated food, person to person, or when infected stool enters another's mouth (ie. Poor hand washing).It may cause bloody diarrhea, abdominal cramping/ pain and fever. It usually resolves within 5 to 7 days.
