Bacteria: Shigella is a bacteria that is found in contaminated water often stagnant water. It can cause gastroenteritis ( diarrhea and vomiting and fever).

Arthritis too!: Shigella enteritis can trigger an arthritis in genetically predisposed people, usually having hla-b27 or b40. In can be chronic (reactive arthritis).
