Sometimes people: see a psychiatrist to prescribe psychiatric medications. However, please discuss this with your physician. It is very important to keep your provider in the loop.

You are free to: see other physicians as needed. However, one of the 'contractual' duties of the patient in a doctor-patient relationship is to be honest with the physician. You need to inform your PCP, and let him/her know if you are on any additional medications.
