Dr. Suhas Pai answered

Complications: A person can experience complications after a surgery of any kind. The most common complications after a laminectomy include infection, CSF leak, nerve root injury, hematoma formation and failure to improve from surgery. These risks are all fairly low but must be recognized as possibilities associated with surgery.

All surgeries have : risks which are also dependent on your age & underlying health as well as your habits such as smoking. General risks include: infection, scar tissue, nerve injury, dural tear and spinal fluid leakage, hematoma formation(blood clot), bleeding, wound healing problems, back pain, failure of surgery to relieve preop symptoms to name a few but you should go over this with your surgeon as to your risks
