Rapid mood swings: There is rapid-cycling and non-rapid cycling bipolar disorder. The forer averages about 21 days and non-rapid type about 51 days. Mood swings can accur much more rapidly than the 21 day average. If the mood swings interfere with functioning, then a mental health assessment by a doctor followed by meds or referral would be appropriate.
