Herpes Simplex?: A cold sore is a lesion w blisters (lip, chin, cheek, nostril & sometimes mouth) which causes burning, pain & itching. It is teaming w Herpes Simplex virus. However, due to viral shedding, herpes virus can be transmitted even when there are not active lesions.
