Not understanding: These people may not comprehend the suffering that comes with experiences of neglect, and that this does require the work of healing. Some of these people may also have had similar experiences of their own, and need to defend against this by attacking others. Making the choice to go beyond the "victim" role in life is huge, and involves courage and commitment. One needs help to accomplish this.
