Does isoimmunization and anemia cause slow social development?

Generally no.: Isoimmunization is an immune-mediated process that is caused by mother antibodies crossing the placenta and targeting the babies red blood cells (this is also called rh disease). The resulting fetal anemia can be mild to severe. Whether normal growth and development are compromised is dependent upon the severity and length of the anemia and any associated cognitive dysfunction which may occur.
