Five months ago i hurt my finger i went to two different hospitals they took x-rays but nothing seems to be broke finger is still in much pain why?

Ligament Tear: Even if you had negative x-rays, ligaments tears can cause joint instability that can cause continuing pain. See your doctor regarding appropriate splinting protocols and re-evaluation schedule.

Finger pain: If you hurt your finger 5 months ago and it is still hurting see a hand surgeon. Get their opinion.

Don't go to ER: For old injuries , except burdening overcrowded er intent is for acute injuries , now you go to hand injuries specialist , like orthopedic or hand surgeon for complete evaluation and treatment, you may have nerve injury or a joint injury may nor show in ordinary x-rays.
