It can do that: It is true that drinking anything while eating is not recommended for those reasons. Before eating is fine and even good if you are trying to eat smaller portions. After is good too. But during eating it can cause dilution of digestive fluids (including saliva) and rush the food through before nutrients have time to be absorbed. Also, juices are high in sugar/calories. Water is better. Best!
