What is dpt?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Older vaccine: Before the 90's we routinely gave the DTP or child formulation of diphtheria /tetanus & whole cell pertussis vaccine. It as a successful combination vaccine but many had significant side effects. We never gave it after age 6. In the 90's the acellular pertussis vaccine replaced the whole cell pertussis vaccine. It has few if any side effects. We now give the DTap or adult TdaP.
