What medication: If your immune system is working well, your lymph nodes will often get enlarged and can be painful as it filters out the badness.
You did not state if they determined what specific infection it was (if they determined the cause) and if you are on antibiotics.
There is a chance the infection can get walled off somewhere near the tonsils and you get an abcess. Meds will help, but ENT may be needed.

You may also return to urgent care or your doctor and ask them to test you for Mono as that also causes similar symptoms.
