Combination tx: Folliculitis is often caused by staph bacteria that develops on areas of the body that sweat and are occluded. Things you do to help reduce sweating, occlusion and bacterial load will help. For severe cases, you need a 10 day course of oral antibiotics (assuming u don't have mrsa) . I then recommend an antibacterial soap for the shower such as lever 2000 and topical clindamycin. See a dermatogist.
