You are okay: The heart rate is not very low to be worried about. Usually, the heart rate is lower in people who exercise regularly. Low heart rate can be a problem if it's associated with symptoms of dizziness, lightheadedness, or passing out episodes.

Normal limits: A heart rate of 55 at rest is within normal limits for a person in your age group. Unless you're having symptoms of weakness, fatigue, lightheadedness, or symptoms with exercise, you don't need further tests.
