Get a biopsy: First, you should get an endometrial biopsy. This is an office procedure to make sure you do not have pre-cancerous cells, called hyperplasia, in the lining of the uterus. Some options you have (assuming this test is negative) are: 1) do nothing and wait until your periods stop around age 52 2) get a Mirena (levonorgestrel) iud 3) have an endometrial ablation 4) get a hysterectomy 5) hormones.
