Yes and maybe: Juvenile diabetes is a very difficult disease to treat. Most children and teens are not able to attain the desired level of control as the professional organizations wish. insulin is lifesaving and potentially deadly at the same time. It requires careful planning and constant vigilance. Recent breakthroughs as fast acting insulins, pumps, CGM's, research on artificial pancreas are promising!
