Bone grafting ?: Did the dentist who extracted the teeth place bone grafting material in the extraction sites ? This helps the healing process and preserves the ridge and the socket walls. With the graft, the healing time can be as little as 3 to 4 months.. Without the graft it could be twice that.

Dental Implants: Find a dentist who will be actually placing the implants (Oral Surgeon, Periodontist, Prosthodontist or GD) They will determine what and when imaging would be appropriate and when to place the implants. Often, a surgeon will coordinate treatment with a restorative dentist for planning and best end result.

Trust: Timing varies from professional to professional, depending on healing, etc. If in question, consider a second opinion.

No waiting needed: CBCT scan has made significant contributions to the planning and placement of implants to replace missing teeth.Virtual implant planning using CBCT data allows the clinicians to create and visualize the end result before initiating treatment prior, during or after extraction.See an oral surgeon or general dentist for CBCT and implant treatment planning. Good luck.
