See a dentist: Dental infection due to tooth abscess, gum abscess or combination of both. If pulp of the tooth is necrotic (dead) there is no pain, but an awkward feeling coild be present. See your dentist for evaluation, x-rays and treatment. You are always presented with a few options. Good luck.

Infection ?: So hard to tell without an exam and a radiograph. To know for sure, you'll have to visit a local dentist who can examine the tooth.
