I got my period and it was real light took a pregnancy test and it was negative but the spotting only lasted 3 days what could that mean.

Depends: Most likely has no major significance. Especially if you have regular periods and this one was on time. So, i wouldn't worry about a lighter period without any other changes in your body. Haven't said so, if you have been trying to become pregnant i would recommend repeat the pregnancy test in 2-3 weeks to confirm it negative.
