Nerves: Often, when cutting through skin and tissue such as during a surgery, the nerves in the skin, tissues, and muscles can become damaged. The tingling sensation may be caused by your nerves regrowing and healing. Scar discomfort and numbness is relatively common in the first year or so post-operative. It may take some time before you no longer feel this but is not something to worry too much about.
