Rheumatic fever: Rheumatic fever can affect the heart or stops before causing heart problems. In your case it has affected the heart, hence the name carditis. Thus means acute inflammation of the heart tissues. Once you pass the acute phase, it is no more carditis and is then called rheumatic heart disease. It does not usually affect the brain and what you are experiencing is deep sleep.
