Yes there is: Probable risk for periodic seizures indefinitely, and thus, would strongly urge use of daily medication to prevent future events. Although vns units, and some surgical approaches may help in special cases, sounds like you could do very well taking but one medicine one or two times daily. A neurologist who focuses in epilepsy could be of great value.

No: Treatment for seizures is aimed at control not cure. The only possibility of cure is when there is a very localized focus of seizure activity that can be removed by a neurosurgeon. Patients who go from 2-4 seizure free years have up to a. 70% chance of discontinuing medication without recurrence. This leaves a 39% chance of recurrence.
