Healing: This depends upon your wound healing.Let your oral surgeon or a dentist evaluate the wound ; advise you on this.To return to normal diet after the wisdom tooth surgery, there should not be any pain at the surgical site, also you should be able to open the mouth completely, you should be able to maintain good hygiene by proper brushing ; flossing. This way you don't leave any food particals behind.

7-10 days: Wait at least a week, or you run the serious risk of losing the blood clot and getting a dry socket. Excessive rinsing early on can also cause loss of the clot. Be a little patient and be rewarded with a great result. See your post-op written instructions and ask your Oral Surgery staff for recommendations. Good luck.

Approx 48 hours: After 48 hours you can begin to eat solid foods. However, for at least a week, you should avoid any type of food that can get lodged in the surgical site. Keep a good oral hygiene. Good luck.
