Zyprexa (olanzapine): Is actually an antipsychotic medication that has sedation as a side effect. Many people gain significant amounts of weight on zyprexa (olanzapine). There are many medications that can be used to assist with sleep. If your practitioner only gives you the choice of zyprexa (olanzapine) or nothing for sleep problems - you might want to see another medical provider.

Of course: Numerous rx and non rx options are avaialble but before resorting to them it might be worthwhile to examine the root causes of your sleep disorder starting with sleep hygiene issues.

Think about this: You are already taking two meds for your mental health. These have their uses, but I'm especially glad that you're also in behavioral therapy. I'm sorry about what happened to you as a kid, but today's best science has satisfied most of us that a person can, with guidance, learn to be happy and effective anyway. I suspect that no sleeping potion will help you as much as hard physical exercise.
