Not sleep medication: Zyprexa (olanzapine) is not a recommended treatment for sleep in of itself. It is an indicated treatment for chronic mood and/or interrelated psychotic conditions which, if untreated, can disrupt sleep. Amongst other potential adverse effects, zyprexa can cause significant weight gain. There are effective alternative agents for sleep and/or mental health conditions which may disrupt sleep.
