Bleeding : Bleeding in early pregnancy is very common and complicates one and five pregnancies. 50% of these will go on to miscarriage within the first two weeks. As long as there is no passing of clots or tissue this could still be a normal pregnancy and so no intervention is needed. Keep your appointment with your doctor because ectopic (tubal) pregnancy must be ruled out. It may take a few weeks to establish that this is a normal pregnancy but as long as the bleeding is not heavy and there is no severe abdominal pain there is no need to go to the emergency room.
