What ingredient are most people allergic to in pantoprazole? can i still take dexilant (dexlansoprazole) or rabeprazole? my throat slightly felt tight and my tummy got ives from pantoprazole first day. what can i take?

Further evaluation: It would be rare to be allergic to these medications. Allergy usually takes several days, not first dose. Common side effects of ppis (proton pump inhibitors) are headache, bloating, diarrhea, constipation. Changing brands can work. You had hives on the skin of your tummy? Talk to your doctor, and tell the story, i would not assume you are allergic to pantoprozole.

Proton pump inhibit: The drugs you mention are all from the same class of medications known as proton pump inhibitors. You could try a medication from the histamine h2-receptor antagonist such as famotidine.
