I got my tooth extracted the gums around it went swollen my dentist put some terrible tasting steel wool in it and it is making me bleed.

It's not steel wool: You may have a dry socket. If so, your dentist placed a packing with medication. You did not ask a question, just stated facts. Please ask your surgeon exactly what was done to you and why. Feel better soon..

Swollen gum: See another dentist for a second opinion, bleeding from extraction socket can be controlled with other hemostatic agents. Steel wool is not one of them!

Post op pain: the packing material was not steel wool..it would have been a dressing to help the area heal. Please call the dentist with your concerns. They are the best one to help you at this point.
