Different diseases: Chlamydia is a cell-wall free higher form of bacteria which is a common cause of non-gonococcal urethritis. Neisseria gonorrheae is a cell-wall containing bacteria which causes gonorrhea, usually producing more severely symptomatic disease than chlamydia.
